Landscape rehabilitation I.L. Caragiale Park Cluj-Napoca

Caragiale Park, a public park in the heart of Cluj-Napoca, has been transformed into a modern and friendly green space through a large landscaping project by Eco Garden Construct. The intervention aimed to strike a balance between natural aesthetics, functionality and sustainability.

Specific requirements of the beneficiary – Cluj-Napoca residents

The community of Cluj-Napoca needed a modern and accessible landscaping for the Caragiale Park, which would provide a space for recreation and relaxation for all visitors. The main requirements included creating generous green areas, planting trees and plants, ensuring an efficient irrigation system and long-term landscape maintenance.

The work done

Planting trees and vegetation:

• Forty-nine trees were planted, selected for their shade, aesthetics and important contribution to urban biodiversity.
• On an area of about 1250 square meters, about 3300 perennials have been added, creating a varied palette of colors and textures that ensure a spectacular landscape in all seasons.

Lawn landscaping:

• A generous 1,800 square meters of lawn has been established, providing a perfect green space for relaxation and recreation.

Efficient irrigation systems:

• To ensure the health and vitality of the vegetation, a lawn sprinkler irrigation system was installed.
• A drip irrigation system has been implemented in the plant cells, optimized to provide exactly the amount of water needed, reducing waste and promoting sustainability.

Soil protection and long-term maintenance:

• All the cells were covered with mulch, a natural mulch layer that helps to retain moisture, prevent soil erosion and inhibit weed growth.

Results and impact

The development has transformed Caragiale Park into an attractive and functional space for the local community. New planting and efficient irrigation systems contribute to:
